Job Description

Smart Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5–19 with Autism in a specialist school setting in Shifnal.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with Autism and helping them develop confidence, communication, and independence.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum tailored to their individual needs. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and support staff to promote learning, communication, independence, and positive engagement in education.

Job Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant
  • Support pupils with Autism in the classroom

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs

  • Promote communication, independence, and confidence

  • Support pupils who may display challenging behaviours

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

Requirements for a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism
