QHSE Manager- Edinburgh\n\nThe Role\n\nThe QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems within a fabrication and manufacturing environment. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and legal regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety awareness, and operational excellence.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nQuality Management\n\n * Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards.\n\n * Ensure fabrication processes comply with customer specifications, drawings, welding procedures, and quality requirements.\n\n * Conduct internal audits, inspections, and quality assessments.\n\n * Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions.\n\n * Monitor fabrication quality performance and identify improvement opportunities.\n\n * Coordinate third-party inspections and customer audits.\n\nHealth & Safety\n\n * Implement and monitor health and safety policies in compliance with local legislation and company standards.\n\n * Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety training, and accident investigations.\n\n * Ensure safe working practices in welding, cutting, lifting, painting, and fabrication activities.\n\n * Monitor PPE compliance and workplace safety standards.\n\n * Lead emergency preparedness and response activities.\n\nEnvironmental Management\n\n * Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards.\n\n * Monitor waste management, emissions, hazardous materials handling, and environmental performance.\n\n * Promote sustainable practices and environmental awareness across the organization.\n\nCompliance & Documentation\n\n * Maintain QHSE records, procedures, manuals, and reports.\n\n * Ensure compliance with client requirements, fabrication codes, and statutory regulations.\n\n * Prepare monthly QHSE reports and KPI analysis for management review.\n\n * Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and certification bodies.\n\nLeadership & Training\n\n * Lead and mentor QHSE officers and site personnel.\n\n * Deliver QHSE inductions and ongoing employee training programs.\n\n * Promote a proactive safety and quality culture throughout the organization.\n\n * Support continuous improvement initiatives across fabrication operations.\n\n Requirements\n\nMinimum [5–10] years of QHSE experience in fabrication, manufacturing, steel structure, or industrial environments.\n\nStrong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding inspections, and industrial safety standards.\n\nCertified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 preferred.\n\nNEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety certification is an advantage.\n\nFamiliarity with welding standards, quality control procedures, and risk management.\n\nStrong leadership and communication skills.\n\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.\n\nKnowledge of fabrication quality standards and HSE regulations.\n\nAbility to conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations.\n\nStrong report writing and documentation skills.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office and QHSE management systems.\n\nFabrication workshop and construction/site environment.\n\nMay require occasional travel to project sites and client locations.\n\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.\n\nPreferred Certifications\n\n * ISO 9001 Lead Auditor\n\n * ISO 14001 Internal Auditor\n\n * ISO 45001 Internal Auditor\n\n * NEBOSH / IOSH\n\n * CSWIP or welding inspection certification (advantageous)
