New Product Introduction Lead

Job Description

Job Opportunity: New Product Introduction (NPI) Lead

Location: Camberley, UK

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Competitive + benefits

As we accelerate our strategic growth, in the Defence and Nuclear sectors, we’re looking for a driven, disciplined and influential NPI Lead to take ownership of several key projects critical to our future success.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a multifunctional team in an engineering design and manufacturing business, turning ambitious concepts into fully delivered, validated products—flawlessly and on time.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Leading multiple end‑to‑end NPI engineering design and manufacturing projects, from concept through to first delivery.
  • Building and managing integrated project plans, ensuring alignment, transparency and accountability.
  • Driving customer quote responses—owning cost, lead‑time and commercial commitments.
  • Ensuring every NPI gate is passed with complete, accurate and on‑time deliverables.
  • Identifying risks early, taking decisive action, and maintaining project momentum.
  • Bringing together Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Operations and Finance to deliver as one team.
  • Maintaining strong project governance, communication cadence and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Bring

Must‑Haves

  • Hands‑on experience across the full NPI lifecycle in an engineering design and manufacturing business.
  • Detail‑driven, yet skilled at analysing and interpreting information to see patterns, join the dots and understand the bigger picture.
  • Strong requirements management in regulated sectors such as Defence, Nuclear, Aerospace or Medical.
  • Ability to build robust, dependency-driven project plans, within a defined governance structure.
  • Sharp analytical mindset with a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Confident communicator capable of influencing, challenging and coaching.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Should‑Haves

  • A recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMBOK, Scrum, etc.).
  • Evidence‑based decision‑making capability.
  • Skilled meeting/workshop facilitator.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • British citizenship (due to project requirements).

Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Background in Procurement, Engineering, Quality or Operations.
  • Understanding of Lean tools and principles.

Who You Are

  • You are organised, resilient, and thrive in a regulated engineering environment.
  • You see the big picture but never miss the details.
  • You are proactive, accountable, and able to motivate teams—including those who don’t report directly to you.
  • You communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and bring a positive, can‑do mindset to every challenge.

Full training will be provided on DML’s processes, management systems and product lines.
