Computer Science Teacher role in: Birmingham\n\nStarting date: Sept 2026\nSalary: MPS1 - MPS6 per day, DOE\nTemporary Contract: Long-term cover\nFull-Time Vacancy: (8:30am - 3:30pm) \n\nComputer Science Teacher Specification\n\nWe are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Birmingham with an immediate start available. This is a full-time, long-term role with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.\n\nThe successful applicant will teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop strong digital literacy, programming skills, and computational thinking. In addition to delivering high-quality Computer Science lessons, the role may include providing cover for other subjects when required, ensuring continuity of learning across the school.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking to develop their skills in a supportive and well-led school environment.\n\nEssential Requirements:\n\nUK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent qualification\nExperience teaching Computer Science at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)\nStrong classroom and behaviour management skills\nAbility to adapt quickly and deliver effective lesson cover when needed\nSafeguarding Level 1 trained (support available if required)\nEnhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) \n\nKey responsibilities:\n\nPlan and deliver engaging, differentiated Computer Science lessons at KS3 and KS4\nTeach key topics such as programming, algorithms, computational thinking and digital systems\nAssess, monitor and support student progress and attainment\nProvide lesson cover across the department or wider school when required\nMaintain high standards of classroom behaviour and learning\nContribute to the wider school community and departmental development \n\nIf you are a qualified Computer Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic Dudley secondary school, we encourage you to apply today.\n\nFor more information about joining Empowering Learning, please get in touch.\n\nApplications from experienced Computer Science Teachers and ECTs are welcome.\n\n#INDMIDS
